Scouting out Landforms

One of the wonderful parts of scouting out new landforms and materials is how I get there, whether it is on a farm, or in the woods. This winter I have been x-country skiing and snowshoeing, to get a closer look at the forms and materials of old homestead foundations.

Skiing in the berkshires is the one way to access the foundations and hearths of former homesteads. The relics are the bones of architectural history of New England.
