My favorite Theatre group performed an amazing spectacle this summer called Shahrazad. Double Edge Theatre is in Ashfield, Massachusetts and performs all over the world. This summer I designed a swimming/flying horse for their last scene to go with the sparkling palace.

I was able to witness the last performance of Double Edge Theatre's 2012 Odyssey last night. It was a rich and full performance. And today was striking the set day under a beautiful August sky with a hint of fall in the air.
The summer production of The Odyssey put on by Double Edge Theatre, is in full swing and Odysseus has his woolen sails again, Mount Olympus is decked out in its bling and the 40 foot land sail is in its full glory. Below are some images of sail repairs and rerigging.

This week I started teaching a new set design session for the winter interns at Double Edge Theatre. Sculpting blindfolded is always an adventure and takes the emphasis off design and puts us in an emotional response or touch responsive mode to the materials. The results are surprising, especially when the final product is not the sculpture itsef but the shadow it creates.
